Meet Shannon
I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker based in Tamworth, NSW, with 16 years of experience providing counselling to children, adolescents and adults.
I offer a warm, compassionate and a welcoming space
where you can feel heard, understood, and supported as you explore your experiences and navigate life's challenges. Together, we can explore what matters most to you, draw on your strengths, and work towards meaningful change at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Sometimes healing begins by having a safe space to share your story.
How I can help
Anxiety & Stress
Excessive worry, racing thoughts, restlessness and difficulty concentrating are symptoms that can become overwhelming and impact your daily life. Counselling can help you identify unhelpful thinking patterns, understand symptoms and develop practical strategies to manage the symptoms.
Perinatal
Becoming a parent is a life-changing experience full of anticipation, excitement and joy. This period in life can also bring challenges, such as learning as you go, new routines and responsibilities. It is common to feel mixed emotions such as happiness, love, uncertainty, anxiety and exhaustion. Counselling can offer a supportive, compassionate and non-judgmental space to explore your journey since becoming a parent.
Circle of Security Parenting Program (COS) – Help strengthen your parenting confidence, better understand your child’s emotions, and nurture a healthy attachment with your child.
This program can be provided one on one or as a group.
Depression
Depression is more than feeling sad or having a bad day. You may experience low mood, loss of interest and pleasure in the things you used to enjoy and feelings of hopelessness. These symptoms can impact relationships, work and overall wellbeing.
Together we can explore the causes, develop coping strategies and work towards rebuilding a sense of purpose and connection.
Life Transitions
Have you experienced a sudden change or adjustment in your life? Whether expected or unexpected, these transitions can feel overwhelming, making it difficult to find clarity while adapting to new circumstances. I can offer a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore and process emotions, build coping strategies and explore your experience at your own pace.
Trauma
Trauma is not only experienced in the mind, but also in the body. Even after the experience has passed, memories and physical responses to trauma can sometimes remain and show up as physical sensations in the body.
I offer a safe, respectful and supportive space for healing, guided by your own pace and readiness.
Children & Adolescents
Children and young people may not always have the words to express what they are feeling and their experiences may show through behaviour, mood changes and withdrawal. Through art and play therapy, counselling can offer a space to explore feelings, thoughts and coping strategies. Counselling is inclusive (age appropriate) of parents/carers with the aim of supporting child/parent practice of skills and strategies.
Please note
To ensure I can provide appropriate therapeutic support, I do not accept referrals involving ongoing court proceedings or family law disputes.
